From Calories to Conditions: How Real Healing Happens
What I have learned through my own health journey and through years of working with others is that healing does not come from chasing numbers (nor modifying them with medications). It comes from understanding the signals your body is responding to and learning how to change those signals in a way that feels supportive rather than controlling. This realization is what ultimately reshaped my work and led me to create a more comprehensive framework for health that goes far beyond food alone.
That framework is built on the idea that nutrition is important, but it is only one piece of a much larger picture. How you breathe, how you sleep, how you move, how much light you are exposed to, how stressed your nervous system is, and how safe your environment feels all influence how your body uses the food you eat. Ignoring those factors while obsessing over calories or LDL is like adjusting the thermostat while leaving the windows wide open.
This is why I developed what I call the R.E.S.T.™ protocol. It focuses on restoring the foundational conditions the body needs to regulate itself. Respiration supports oxygen delivery and nervous system balance. Electricity refers to the flow of energy in the body and the importance of reducing unnecessary electromagnetic and environmental stressors. Sunshine addresses light exposure, circadian rhythm, and timing, which influence hormones, metabolism, and repair. Therapy includes practical tools such as movement, cold exposure, red light, and other supportive practices that help the body recover rather than break down.
Evolving with me does not mean abandoning everything you know or doing something extreme. It means stepping out of the cycle of constant restriction, tracking, and self-blame, and learning how to work with your biology instead of against it. For some people, this starts with changing how and when they eat. For others, it begins with sleep, light, or stress. There is no single-entry point.
My work now centers on helping people understand their own patterns and blind spots so they can stop interfering with their body’s systems that already know how to heal. Through my consultations, educational programs, and written work, including my book, I aim to give people clarity, not dependency. The goal is not to follow me forever, but to learn how to listen to your body with confidence and make decisions that support long term health. Not the best business plan, I realize.
